Endow Manitoba Giving Challenge!!

HELP YOUR COMMUNITY FLOURISH FOREVER!!

The Endow Manitoba Giving Challenge is here!

There has never been a better time to help the Wawanesa Community Foundation Inc. grow our Community Forever Fund!!!

Through the week of November 10-16th only, all gifts to your Community Foundation will be topped up by 40%, thanks to generous stretch funding from the Winnipeg Foundation and the Province of Manitoba. A gift of $100. will instantly become $140. (Any donation amount is gratefully accepted, and charitable receipts are provided for amounts over $20.)

We continue an exciting twist to our challenge. However, for the first year yet, our local businesses are adding 100% additional matching support! Because of our local community businesses Ellis Seeds, Shur-Gro Wawanesa, Guild Insurance, Rusty Bucket Auto, Jackson Elder Family Farm and Ganalane Farms, the first $10,000 raised during the Giving Challenge will double to $20,000 to go to our Wawanesa Community Foundation funds!

Through November 10-16th, your gift to Wawanesa Community Foundation can be made securely online at endowmb.org (link: https://www.endowmb.org/giving-challenge/)or directly through your local Wawanesa Community Foundation. Donations made directly to the Wawanesa Community Foundation can be made via INTERAC e-transfer to wawanesacommunityfoundation20@gmail.com. Please include your name and address where the Charitable Donation receipt can be mailed. Or contact Foundation Board Members Treasurer Leonard Plett at 204 725-6873, Past Board Chair Glenn McGregor at 204 761-7596 or Board Chair Amanda Ellis at wawanesacommunityfoundation@gmail.com for more information.

Canada’s Community Foundation movement started in 1921 in Winnipeg. Today, there are over 56 Community Foundations in our Province – more than one-quarter of all the Foundations in Canada. These Foundations are part of Manitoba’s history of generosity, a tradition in which we can all participate and take pride.

November 10-16th is a great time to invest in the future of the Wawanesa area!!

Endow Manitoba Giving Challenge Results of 2024

Challenge Complete Wawanesa Community!!

Thank you for supporting the Wawanesa Community Foundation during the Endow Manitoba Giving Challenge. This year’s challenge was a great success for community foundations across the province. Gifts stay here in Wawanesa in our undesignated “Community Forever” Fund and are stretched by The Winnipeg Foundation and the Province of Manitoba.

This year, similar to 2023, our first $5,000 of donations were also stretched by the great support of three of our local businesses, including Shur-Gro Wawanesa, Guild Insurance Group, and Ellis Seeds. Through their commitment, we were able to provide 100% matching dollars, so the first $5,000 became $10,000!

With the generosity of our Wawanesa community, past and present residents, and the great corporate support from local businesses, our 2024 results were very close to matching last year’s record total for the Giving Challenge week! When the final numbers came in from Endow Manitoba, the total amount of giving for 2024, including the matching donation dollars, total $18,595 for the week! Fantastic results and leaves an enticing target of exceeding $20,000 in 2025!
